Biscuits one of the most popular treats has an ancient history. The first mention of biscuits in the annals refers to Persia 8 century BC. In the middle ages, biscuits also became very popular among seafarers, who took it with them on long voyages, as it did not stale for a long time and did not spoil.

 

The Russian word "biscuits" came from the word "oven". In England, the cookie is called "biscuit", and in Italy - "biscotti". These words are derived from the Latin "bis coctum" - "twice baked", which explains the technology of production of biscuits-usually first baked long logs, then cut diagonally into slices and bake a second time. In Europe, famous confectioners enriched biscuit recipes with their own inventions.
