Cracknels (baranki) with poppy seed
Cracknels (baranki) is one of the symbols of the Russian tea party.
The name cracknels (baranki) comes from the word "to scald" because cracknels (baranki) did of custard, or, as in ancient Rus called, Obvodnogo, test thin flagella, folded them in a circle of them and then baked "obwarzanki" that is, products of Obvodnogo test. The name was changed – "baranochki", "abaranci" and much later "cracknels (baranki)".
